In wire art I made a spider. I put colorful beads on it to make it more attractive. If I was doing it again then I would make it smaller.

Narrative Writing

In Narrative Writing, I wrote a story which combines two really good movies.  The movies were The Polar Express and Peter Pan.  A quick summary would be that a girl boards a train and gets the ride of her life by ending up in a mysterious world.  The best part of my story was that my introduction was amazing .  One thing I could have done better was to improve on my ending, as I felt that I ended it too quickly.

Maths Week Reflection

Since this is Maths week we have a problem we have to solve everyday. Mrs Sharma gave us a website we could use to practise our Basic Facts. I learnt a shorter way of finding out how many 10's and 100's there are in a 5-digit numbers.

Term 3 Reflection

For wire art I made a wine cup. I think I can make it better by making all of my wires even. The hardest part was to bend all the wires together and making the shape right. The fun part was to think of a way to make the bottom. It really got my brain thinking.

The Iron Brion Roadshow
On 25.08.09 Iron Brion came to Bailey Road School.
It was an awesome show. It was about eating healthy and what foods are good for us.
I learnt that red meat like steak, lamb and beef contain more iron than white meat like chicken and fish. Also you would have to eat two kilograms of spinach to get the same amount of iron from one hundred grams steak.

Wire Art Reflection

In wire art I made a butterfly. It was hard because I had to sew material onto the butterfly's wings. What I would improve on next time is I would add more detail to it and make it smaller.

Maths Week

This week is maths week and our class has been doing a maths question each morning. The main thing we are aiming for is to show our understanding by explaining the strategy.  Our teacher is not interested  in just the right answer. =)

Wire art

In wire art I made a scorpion.
The easiest thing of making a scorpion was the legs and stingers.
Next time I want to make dragon fly.

wire art reflection

I think my wire art is cool. I made a dragon. It was a little challenging but I had lots of fun. The wings were hard to do so I didn't make any.
One thing I need to improve on next time is to make the body larger.

Natascha's Netball Prize Giving!!!

On Saturday 22 August I had a netball prize giving.  My team's name was B.R.S Starz and it had 7 people in it.  I got the Player of the Year for my team.  I was so happy because this is the 3rd year in a row getting it.

Three Little Dogs

I wrote a fantastic story about the three little dogs. It was way better than the three little pigs!

School's fantastic

Today in maths I learnt to find 10's, 100's, 1000's in five digit numbers. It was cool because I got to work with other people that I didn't normally work with.It was challenging because I had to explain it to other people.

I found out that this website Tut pup that helped me in my basic fact tests. I like it so much that I go on it for an hour every night.

Wire Art Reflection

I made a spider using wires and I want to do it again because it is really fat and I think that it is a bit too big. If I could do it again then I would take a bit more time on it and try to put more detail. Wire art really tested my patience.

Room 18 are excited about creating their pieces of art work using wires and beads.
They have started sketching pictures as their first planning step. This week we will begin to shape the wire sculptures.
